Friday evening, met up with my girlfriend and a kiwi couple who are locals to the area, they decided to take us to a sandwich shop in the Kyungridan area, always down for a good sandwich so thought why not, show us the way. Located about 10min walk from Noksapyeong station Porchetta is very easy to find.
The decor in the restaurant is quite nice and the smell of meats and breads hit your nose as soon as you walk into the place, it was a quiet Friday night so not too many people so we got seated quickly and started looking over the menu, they have a bunch of food on offer but we decided to ask for recommendations just in case we miss something that might have been the “go to” sandwich with customers
The waiter informed us that the original porchetta was what most people ordered the first time, but yeah with everything else on the menu was definitely gonna step away from what the “regular first timer” orders lolol. I opted for the Chipotle Chicken and Bacon, and my girlfriend ordered the Brie Mustard Porchetta and we also ordered a side of Porchetta fries (we were a bit hungry lol).
The Porchetta fries came out first, with alot of big chunks of chicken and a decent amount of fries, at first i thought the fries were sweet potato, but they ended up just being regular potato, although they were well seasoned, and mixed in with some melted cheese and garlic. These were super tasty and really fluffy inside, a little soggy but still really tasty, the mouthwatering bit and pieces it came with really made it. Would definitely order this again, think it was about 12,000w for a decent portion of fries
Next up was my girlfriends Brie Mustard Porchetta, in usual fashion we exchanged halves of each others sandwiches. I started on her sandiwch, and was kinda disappointed with the amount of chicken that was inside the sandwich, she was happy since her side had most of the chicken and brie, where as mine had about 2 bites of the stuff. Needless to say I lucked out on the poor half of the sandwich, in saying that seeing that the sandwich ingredients weren’t spread out thoroughly was sad to see….and yeah I couldn’t wait much longer to try my sandwich after being disappointed with hers. Although it was tasty, definitely nothing amazing taste wise.
My sandwich on the other hand was extremely tasty and saucy, the flavors exploded with each bite, so my frist couple of bites were happy, but first thing that came to my attention was that the bread didn’t hold what was inside too well, the sauces were seeping through the holes, and the sauces was overflowing out from the sides, it wasn’t TOO MUCH it was more like the bread wasn’t cut thick enough, my girlfriends half of the sandwich was cut on a weird angle so she pretty much had half a slice of bread on the bottom of her sandwich, she was holding the chicken herself and not the bread. LOL other then that I enjoyed my sandwich out of the two, portion size it was good, a solid amount of filling in the sandwich, sauces went well with the chicken, only complaint would have been the bread being so thin. All in all the sandwiches were pretty tasty, wouldn’t say well made, but they weren’t awful either, i’d go back to try other sandwiches and maybe some dessert, just hope next time the bread is in better condition and the ingredients a little more filling throughout the WHOLE sandwich
How to get there: Take a train to Noksapyeong Station Line 6 Come out of exit 2 and walk straight for about 200 meters. Go underneath the underpass to get to the other side of the road. Follow the right hand side of the road and Porchetta should be in sight.
